Feeling a little adventurous? In this session we aim to first and foremost nail the 10×8 headshot several times over giving you plenty of range and freedom when making your final selection. The Creative Portfolio also offers the benefits of additional setups and the extra time we have together means we can plot out what areas of your portfolio need attention. The creative part can be a combination of many different ideas or we can just focus on deepening your range of 10×8 images. I don’t have a check list … “ok now we need to do the mid shot” We can chat about what you need and work from there and tailor this session to suit your current needs.
A few buzz words and what they mean: LA/US Style headshot. In the US the trend is slightly freer in teams of cropping style than our traditionally tighter 10×8 actors headshots over here. So technically speaking that is the only difference, perhaps a certain emphasis is put on a more vibrant and sometimes smily images that move towards character images than something more neutral.
This leads into Landscape Portrait, this is sometimes grouped into the same box as LA/US Style headshot as it certainly feels more filmic. It has a modern quality to it that incorporate the subject and the background in a scenic environment. Often using a nice shallow depth of field effect like the images that roll around on my home page.
What use are these images to me? Good question, well practically these images can still be cropped into 10×8 if they are taken in the right way, also there is a bigger demand for images for cover banners on social media, websites, business cards, iIMDB etc or perhaps you’re flying to LA.
